Fifth Annual 2008 Tournament

The 5th Annual Tori Carswell Memorial Golf Tournament was held on Saturday, August 9th, 2008 at the Canadian Golf and Country Club. The $ raised this year was $37,400, which was $2,400 more than last year! All proceeds from the tournament have been donated to Tori’s Helping Hand, which is a program within the Candlelighters’ Amenities Fund.

The day was a lot of fun, despite a little rain near the end. The highlight of the evening was the speech given by Kate DeGrace. Kate is a childhood cancer survivor, and is now off-treatment and doing well for many years. Kate is in a university nursing program and plans to work as a nurse on the Oncology Ward at CHEO. We all learned a lot from Kate's wonderful and powerful speech. Thank you Kate!

Many thanks to all the golfers and sponsors, who made the day such a success. All the sponsors are listed on the Sponsors link. A big thank-you as well to all the wonderful volunteers.
